Million Dollar Hoods works with our community partners to collect oral histories from residents of LA County’s over policed and hyper-incarcerated neighborhoods. These testimonies document the human toll of mass incarceration in LA’s Million Dollar Hoods. If you would like to provide an oral history for the archive, please contact us at info@milliondollarhoods.org.
With help from the ACLU of Southern California, Million Dollar Hoods sued the LAPD and won access to an unprecedented cache of historical records documenting LAPD activities in L.A.’s Million Dollar Hoods between the 1970s and early 2000s. We call these records the LAPD Files. To access the LAPD Files, open the archives box.
