Anny Viloria Winnett

Graduate Student Researcher

Anny is a doctoral student in Community Health Sciences at the UCLA Fielding School of Public Health. She is passionate about addressing global health and development disparities rooted in colonialism by strengthening local systems and policy. She has worked in the field of international development and public health in a variety of settings, from managing mobile clinics for farm workers in the Dominican Republic, to evaluating community health worker programs in Liberia. She honed in on her passion for health equity as an undergraduate student at the University of Massachusetts Boston where she majored in Anthropology and Gender Studies. Although there are many places she calls home, she’s originally from Colombia and is proud of her indigenous-Caribbean heritage.
