Shantell Missouri
Graduate Student Researcher
My name is Shantell Missouri. I am a current Human Development and Psychology masters student in UCLA’s school of education. I will begin my PhD in the fall where I will continue studying the disparate impact of exclusionary discipline on Black youth in the United States. Specifically the impact of school discipline on future student trajectories around incarceration and the School to Prison Pipeline/Nexus.
I am originally from New Jersey but have been living in a California for four years so now consider myself both a “authentic” pizza and “authentic ” taco snob. I am so excited to be contributing to the work Million Dollar Hoods does in our communities!
